The Hardest Part of Writing a Novel

The hardest thing about writing a novel isn’t getting started. In reality, beginning the project is really easy. Most writers agree, the hardest part about writing a novel is finishing it. There are several reasons for this.

When most people sit down to write a novel, they don’t fully grasp the idea of first drafts. They assume that when they write, they’ll be creating something that will be ready to go to the publisher. It generally doesn’t take very long before they realize that first drafts are rough, really rough. First drafts are full of incomplete sentences, bad grammar, errors, and plot holes. Experienced writers quickly point out that it generally takes several different versions before they’ve completed the final manuscript.

Another thing novice writers discover when they sit down to start a novel is that it takes a lot to turn an idea into a novel. Two or three pages into the manuscript the idea starts to run out of steam, and the writer realizes that it will never extend to fifty thousand words. If you’re not committed, this is the point that you give up, if you want to write a novel, you push through this phase and keep writing. Normally the idea will continue to grow and take shape if you just keep pushing on.

At some point you have to write the end of the story. For most this is the hardest part. All those various story lines you created need to be wrapped up and concluded in a manner that needs to make sense to the reader. Before you start editing your novel, you need to complete the ending. It doesn’t matter if there are holes between the middle and the end. By writing the ending, you’ll at least know where the story is going and can go back to fill in the holes. If you can get the ending down, you’ll have tackled the hardest part of writing your novel.

Jamie has always had a desire to treat any physical problems she had with something natural rather than medicine. She would get a headache and try to put a cool rag on her head, drink some hot tea, or take a hot shower before taking any type of headache medicine. She just wanted to try all she could to stay with natural solutions to physical needs. Several years ago, in an effort to convince others to try natural living, Jamie started a blog. As her audience grew, she became popular for her brilliant home remedies and her creative solutions to everything from the common cold to cleaning your kitchen.

Unfortunately, soon Jamie would struggle to find a natural remedy for the most painful thing she had ever experienced. As Jamie got older, she developed arthritis in many places of her body. Her doctors told her that the only way to stop the day in and day out pain she would feel would be to start arthritis medicine. She was devastated and knew she had a choice. She could just take the medicine or she could try some other things first and see what happens.

Jamie started with heating pads. She would place heating pads on her problem spots at night before bed and that seemed to help her wake up pain free. Jamie also used many natural vitamins and lotions that she could massage into the areas and that seemed to have a little bit of help. The best thing Jamie ever tried was a hot tub. She realized she improved when she would work out at the gym and then sit in their swim spas or two person tubs afterwards. She would walk out of there feeling light and pain free.

She began to research hot tubs and decoded she would purchase one for herself to have at any moment of pain. Once she purchased her hot tub and it was out in on her screened in porch, she was living a pain free life. She would soak in it every night before bed and then anytime she felt that her body had been pushed to its limits.

Jamie realized that she could manage this pain of Arthritis with whirlpool spas. The jets seemed to massage the exact areas on her body that ached and hurt the most. The heat relaxed her muscles and the jets made her feel like she felt before the Arthritis became a part of her life. Jamie was so happy she purchased her own hot tub and will continue to use these natural things for pain management before she chooses medicines.

Now, Jamie lives a life of strength and ease because her hot tub has helped her become free from of all the pain that she once felt. Jamie continues writing on her natural wellness blog, telling everyone she knows that suffers with Arthritis all about the benefits of using hot tubs and spas. Jamie is on a road to healing and finding freedom from medicine. Apparently, natural living is more possible than we ever imagined!

Diary of the Grandma Next Door

I am an elderly woman and I am here to tell you being eighty is no piece of cake. While I’m thankful that I have lived this long some pesky things start occurring at such a ripe old age. The bearings are going out in this old body and it hurts. Every joint in my body sounds like a creaking door that hasn’t been oiled in twenty years. I can get up some mornings in so much pain I can barely stand and when I do I sound like the Rice Crispy boys, snap, crackle and pop.

I finally had enough of all this stubborn joint an back pain. At first I was taking things like aspirin and other over the counter drugs but none of them worked at all. Maybe for about two seconds they would give my joints and muscles a bit of relief but a few minutes later back to the pain. I made an appointment with my doctor and told him that I was eighty and I needed something for pain, I did not care a thing about his views or not wanting to give me anything. I told him in nice terms either he give this old lady some pain medicine or I would find myself a new doctor.

I went into my appointment not feeling so spry as it was rainy and cold and my body was sure letting me know it. I told the doctor about the pain and he said that was normal in my age but he wanted to do some more testing just to make sure. He decided to give me some pain medication but had to find one that would work with my other medications. After a little research he found a good pain medication that he called Tramadol.

I asked him about it to make sure it wasn’t some weird medicine that would have me not knowing who I was and he said that Tramadol prescribed as the generic Ultram 50mg has a low risk of side effects and a low risk of any addictions. Not that I was worried about getting addicted to Tramadol, I wasn’t some kid that was going to go nuts over a pain medication, I just wanted to get some pain relief. He gave me a prescription for Tramadol and I went on my way. I started trying the Tramadol that day. At first I was not that impressed but eventually the Tramadol started helping all those aches and pains.

My doctor called about a week later to tell me that the only thing that they could diagnose with the blood and x ray results was that I had arthritis and osteoporosis. He recommended that I stick with the Tramadol or possibly buy Ultracet and take it at least twice a day and if I needed to increase to call him and let him know. I assured him that I would and I thanked him for giving me the Tramadol that seems to work so well. My grandson pointed out that I could even get my pain medication on the Internet. Now I order all my prescriptions online, from the occasional round of Amoxicillin to Tamiflu in the winter.

Anyone that is interested in playing xbingo or any other games online should make themselves familiar with a few precautions. These precautions pertain to online security and safety, and they should be taken quite seriously to prevent an assortment of issues related to playing bingo online. As with any online endeavor, the potential for privacy invasion is possible. Most people try to protect their privacy by not giving up their personal information and guarding their computers with antivirus software which helps to prevent attacks. However, there is always a possibility that people can be victimized even when they’re playing a simple game like bingo cams or bingo street. Because of this, it is important for people to take some minor precautions to ensure that they can continue to enjoy bingo sites online.

First and foremost, never give anyone your personal information. This is where many people make their mistake. No matter how many months or years you have been visiting a particular bingo website, the truth of the matter is you don’t know any of the people that you’re socializing with via the forums and chat rooms. They are complete strangers, and to be on the safe side it’s best to keep it that way. Avoid giving out personal information such as your full name, age, address, names of family and friends and particularly financial information. Remember that online bingo is for fun and games it is not necessarily for connecting with someone on an intimate level. The best way to avoid becoming a victim is to avoid sharing personal information about yourself via these online citybingo websites.

As noted above, sharing personal information is not recommended. This is unfortunately where most people fall victim to the unscrupulous acts of other individuals. There are some people that join bingo websites merely to collect personal information that they can be used to gain access to financial services and products. This is especially true for those that win jackpots via online bingo games.

Winning can be fun, but it can sometimes make people targets. Do not under any circumstances share your personal financial information with anyone on an online bingo website. No one needs to know the details about how you pay to play bingo. If anyone wants more information about funding players account they can easily ask one of the chat moderators or simply read the instructions that accompany the unloading process.

Staying safe while playing online bingo is not very difficult. People just must be diligent about protecting their personal information. In many ways, whatever you wouldn’t do in a traditional bingo hall don’t do online. It really is that simple. Practicing common sense can make playing bingo a very enjoyable experience.

Ecigs are an important tool for many people to stop smoking. Many bloggers are using them and even participating in e cigarette reviews. Recently, bloggers began to speak out about the FDA?s stance on V2 Cigs and other e-cig technology. I personally have been using v2 cigs for over 6 months and in that time there has been a lot of controversy over if the FDA should make them a FDA approved alternative method of smoking. While the FDA has not put their stamp of approval on them at this time, the smokeless cigarettes can help many people get away from tobacco smoke and drastically reduce their cancer risks.

The FDA has denied accepting electronic cigarettes because they claim that there is not enough information or research done about the ecigs. They also claim that nicotine is a bad product to have in your body and may cause cancer and other problems. There are still many people including doctors and other people trying to get the FDA approval seal on these ecigs and will continue to do so until they get the FDA?s approval.

The risks from nicotine do exist, but smoking ecigs is far less dangerous than the other chemicals that are found in tobacco cigarettes. Many studies have shown over four thousand chemicals in one cigarette. Most all of these chemicals have been linked back to health problems as well as other problems for a person and those around them. Smoking cigarettes can lead to many different types of cancer not just lung cancer. Smoking can also lead to heart problems, blood pressure problems, breathing issues, as well as many other issues in the body. Smoking can also cause physiological issues.

Choosing ecigs are a better way as there is not a bunch of harmful cancer causing chemicals found within the electronic cigarette. There is water vapor that is composed of glycerin, water, nicotine and flavoring. These things are not harmful and much safer than regular cigarette smoking. Ecigs are also much cheaper than tobacco based cigarettes and are easy to use and can be taken anywhere.

If you want to help increase the chances of the FDA approving this drug you should switch to ecigs and smoke them. Let your doctor know what you have done and make sure that you spread the word about ecigs. The more people that we get to buy Blu Cigs the better chance that the FDA will give ecigs the approval. With more people smoking the FDA can also complete the research that needs to be done in order to get the ecigs an approval status. Make sure that you tell as many people as you can about ecigs so that they can be healthy and you can do your part in helping get ecigs FDA approved.

An Unexpected Souvenir

During the summer after I graduated from college, I spent three months touring Europe with two of my best friends.  We planned to basically backpack out way through the most popular sites and explore all the places we had studied during our college years.  It started with a long day in an airplane where I was dying to land so I could enjoy a cigarette.  College stress had left me with a pack a day addiction that never stopped, no matter what my altitude happened to be.

During the first week in London, we saw the Buckingham Palace, Big Ben, and about a dozen other attractions.  It was really amazing to see the things we read about in textbooks up close.  The only problem was that we were all suffering for our nicotine addiction.  We weren’t allowed to smoke in any of the attractions or exhibits and we didn’t want to go outside and have to pay for a second admission.  After a week of enduring hours between cigarettes, we knew we had to come up with a plan to cope.

That’s when we flew to Germany.  We were in a gift shop at the airport in Munich when we saw a glass case full of cigarettes.  Thinking we would restock our supplies, we all rushed over to see if they had our favorites.  What we found was a case full of the best electronic cigarettes, something we had only heard of by internet ads.  I was immediately disappointed, but my friend Mike grabbed my arm before I could walk away.  In a flash of excitement, he declared that we had found the solution to our traveling nicotine withdrawals!

He explained that he had actually read about the e-cig technology as part of a thesis he wrote for his anatomy class.  He had always wanted to try one, but never had the chance without ordering them on the internet.  He told us what he had read on the electronic cigarette reviews online and he fished in his backpack for something.  He produced a hand full of ecig coupons that he had printed off.  He brought them along on the off chance he could find a place that sold e-cigs during our trip.

When the sales lady came over to help us, we asked to examine a couple of the starter packs.  She showed us some V2 Cigs Reviews and they seemed like a good choice.  The design was sleek and the reviews on the kit looked promising.  I was about to cough up my money when Mike said, “Wait guys.  I see the one we want.”  He pointed towards a The Safe Cig starter kit and told us how this was the brand he was hoping to buy because of everything he had read.  Once we held it, read our options for flavor cartridges, and compared prices, we made the decision to buy The Safe Cig.  We each bought a starter kit and several packs of refill cartridges.

The rest of our trip was a blur.  After we started using e-cigs, we were always happy and focused on enjoying the sites around us.  We could smoke them anywhere since there was no second hand smoke.  They were discreet and it turned out that people in Europe use e-cigs so frequently that no one really cares if you use them anyway.  Once our summer of adventure was over, I brought home one really unexpected souvenir.  Packed in my backpack were tons of Green Smoke cartridges and coupons to get more online anytime I needed them.

5 People Who Blog

Have you ever wondered who is writing the anonymous blogs that are scattered across the internet?  Who are these people who write under screen names like “HappyHourMom” and “LonelyinSanFran”?  While we might not know their individual names, we do know a good bit about their lives and the reasons they blog.  It seems that the majority of bloggers fall into one of five categories.  Let’s look at the five people who are blogging each day.

1. Stay at Home Moms

The mom sector makes up the largest percentage of bloggers.  This surprises a lot of people because they would assume that moms have no time for blogging, right?  Wrong!  Moms love to blog.  They need the adult conversation.  They like to share tips, advice, and struggles that come along with full time parenting.  There are thousands of moms who talk together via blogs every single day.

2. Single Girls

Single girls have really gotten in on the blogging action in the last few years.  They are writing about the woes of being single, documenting horrible dates gone wrong, and posting commentary of life in college.  The single girls are some of the most witty bloggers.  A large portion of them discuss fashion and shopping at length on their blogs.

3. Internet Professionals

The internet professionals blog for a few reasons.  First, it is free publicity.  They are basically publicizing themselves all over the net for free with each blog post.  These writers are pros at incorporating social networking into their blogs.  They can also reel in traffic like no other group ever dreamed of.  Unfortunately, the content is sometimes lacking because they spent all that time drumming up traffic!

4. Artists

Artists use blogs as free online portfolios.  They show off photography, paintings, and other art forms through photo galleries and descriptions.  Artist are typically upbeat bloggers that use more pictures than words on their posts.

5. Grandmothers

This sector of bloggers might shock you more than any of the others.  There is a growing number of older women who have fallen in love with blogging.  They love showing off their grandkids and sharing words of wisdom they have collected over a lifetime.  Grandma bloggers are often really funny and they really do have a lot of good advice to share so check them out!

How to Start a Blog

Blogging is the new way to stay in touch with friends and family, no matter where you go.  There are millions of people who write on their personal blogs each day or week and you can be one of them.  Starting a blog is simple and it’s free if you use the right service.  Follow these steps to start your own blog today and join a community of people who like to share their thoughts online.

First, you need to pick a service.  There are multiple blogging platforms that you can choose from.  The most popular are WordPress, Blogger, and TypePad.  While WordPress is often called the best because of their search engine optimization potential, I personally recommend Blogger.  The easy template designer lets you completely personalize the look of your blog and make it exactly has you want it to be.  There is no need to have the same look as every other blogger!  You can make yours as unique as you are with the various themes, layouts, backgrounds, fonts, and color schemes.

Once you pick a service, you need to decide on a theme.  What will you be blogging about?  This will set the premise behind your title, which you need to choose next.  Your blog title should be simple and catchy.  It should instantly reveal what your blog is all about.  If you are writing a personal blog about your day to day life, you might want to just choose your name as the title.  Once you have a theme and a title in mind, you can choose a personalized domain if you desire.  The personalized domains are inexpensive (around $10) and they add a lot to the quality of your website.

The last step is to start writing on your blog.  Don’t be afraid to put the first post up!  Just get something up there.  As you write, you will find that it becomes easier and easier to come up with what you want to say.  Don’t over think it!  Just share what’s on your mind and hit “publish”.  The most successful blogs tend to be the ones that are most candid.

My Blogging Story

I started a blog when I was a stay at home mom, bored and lonely and desperately in need of some adult conversation.  It began as a way to keep in touch with far away family members.  I reasoned that I could share photos of my children and write about how they were growing and changing as time passed.  That is exactly what I did for approximately two weeks until I got bored with it.  I started blogging about more than my family.  Soon, I was talking about fashion, movies, cooking, marriage, and anything else that came to mind on a given day in front of the computer.

As time went on, people started reading my blog and commenting on it!  We had entire discussions about politics, religion, education, and hair styles.  When I had a bad day, I vented to my little group of readers and they fired off a flurry of comments to encourage me to keep on doing what I was doing.  They assured me that I was not a failure for a mother, even after my son bit seven kids in an hour during mother’s morning out.

After three years of blogging, I have officially decided that writing a blog is better than therapy.  For one thing, it’s free.  I don’t have to spend hundreds of dollars to vent about my husband leaving his underwear on the floor or my kids leaving toys all over the living room.  I can write about it on my blog and then I feel better immediately.  Another big advantage is that I have made lots of friends through the blog world.  I read their blogs just like they read mine.  If one of us doesn’t blog for a few days, the others get concerned and we send emails to check and make sure things are okay.

Last summer, I even traveled for a conference to meet up with some of my favorite bloggers!  We spent a weekend actually getting to know each other in person.  It was like meeting a bunch of sisters that you’ve known forever!  Though we had never met face to face, we were all best friends.  You see, blogging is a great way to connect with other people.  If you have never tried it, I would highly encourage you to start a free blog today!
